Connecting Branches Genealogy is a research and preservation service business dedicated to helping individuals and communities explore their roots, preserve family stories, and protect local history from being lost to time. Founded by Tyler Loiselle, whose passion for genealogy began early on with a family legend, the business offers record research, collaborates with historical societies, and supports the preservation of local cemeteries and community heritage. At its core, Connecting Branches Genealogy is about keeping history alive and accessible—ensuring the stories that shape us are never forgotten.

ABOUT ME

Let me introduce myself and share the story behind Connecting Branches Genealogy—a business built on a lifelong passion for uncovering the stories that shape our families and communities.

My name is Tyler Loiselle, and I first caught the “genealogy bug” when I was just 11 years old. It all started with a family legend—that we were somehow related to the famous English author Charles Dickens. While we’ve yet to prove that connection, it lit a spark in me that’s only grown stronger over the years. What began as a personal curiosity quickly turned into a deep appreciation for history in all its forms from historical societies to local cemeteries.

Our current research scope is Genesee and Lapeer Counties in Michigan.

ALL research requests require a $75 feasibility consultation.
Not sure if the records exist or if your request is possible, I’ll conduct a focused review of available sources and give you a written summary of what’s likely possible—and what’s not. Includes a 30-minute call and a feasibility report delivered digitally.

Digital record retrievals are $40 per document after consultation fee.

Record retrievals requiring a visit to court houses, museums, libraries, etc.
start at $60 per document after consultation fee.

Note: Payments processed through PayPal only, no exceptions. Research results are never guaranteed due to record availability. Final reports and documents are sent electronically.
